Obituary of Joseph P. Bieksha

On December 19th 2020 Joseph P. Bieksha of Whiting, NJ passed away after a short illness at Community Medical Center at the age of 78. Joe was born in Newark NJ on October 22, 1942. He lived for many years in Kearny NJ, Verona NJ3and later moving to Whiting in retirement where he lived for the past 15 years. He held a number of jobs early in his career before spending over 25 years at Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley, NJ as a Lab Technician. Being socially oriented, he enjoyed volunteering his time to his community and actively participated in a number of activities as well. Joe was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church since moving to Whiting. He was the loving, faithful husband to his dear wife, Joanne, for 57 years. He leaves behind his three children: Michele Okken and her husband Daryl of Bangor, Pennsylvania, Lori Bieksha of Toms River, New Jersey and Joseph M. Bieksha and his wife Lynda of Indian Trail, North Carolina, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is survived by a brother and 3 sisters: Carol Ammirata and her husband Vincent, Lou Bieksha, Barbara Scorsone and her husband Charles, and Alison Meacham. Joe was a friend to everyone and always liked having friends and family around. He loved and supported his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. He enjoyed being with them as much as possible and was proud of each of them in their own way, encouraging them in everything they accomplished.
