I was saddened when I saw that Raul has passed. I met Raul when I did our St. Joseph Church, Carteret, NJ festival. Raul supplied us each year with the pork on the stick. He was the nicest guy, as was his wife and son. I am sorry I hadn’t kept in touch with him after I stopped doing the festival. My deepest sympathy to his wife and son.

"And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die."
-- John 11 : 26
I am still feel dizzy of this quick turn of event, the last time, he is with us in our chat group, giving inputs and advices, anyway just the same, i want to pay tribute to him, For me, ninong Raul was an epitome of a model big brother, He is my inspiration in dealing with my siblings, being also a big brother now, during my childhood, I witnessed his good relationship with my Papa, He depended him in times of trouble, and always appreciated my Papa's effort, I recalled during that particular time, He always addresses my Papa as"CHAMP" whenever my Papa had an accomplishments, at the same time, Papa look at him as an inspiration, For me," Ninong Raul was my Hero's Hero." As far as i know, my ninong is a good salesman, entreprenaur, a good Chef and jack of all trades, For us, he is a generous Tito, laging may pasalubong, but most of all He is very strict, and disciplinarian, sometimes, part man ,part boy, For him, there's a barrier between a time for fun, and a time to be serious, Ninong Raul, our time together, is so short, but your memories, will linger in our lives forever, you said to me that "it takes one to know one" i fully understand those words Tito, as a big brother like you, you are my inspiration, "as a heart patient like you Ninong Raul, please pray fo me." I always remember the prayer that you taught to us, and i pray" forgive me LORD, i am a sinner" we love you Ninong Raul, thanks for everything!

To you Father, we surrender
To you Father, we surrender him,
Our beloved family member that is so dear.
We praise you and thank you for all those years.
We shared a truly meaningful life with laughter and tears.
Father, though we may be lonely today,
but we know in your loving arms he will stay.
We will always remember his presence with a smile.
For nothing compares to the love he left us behind.
To you Father, we peacefully surrender him,
He will surely be in a place where your face is shining!

May you find the eternal peace that all of us are wishing for you. Thank you for the happy memories, the laughter and your delicious foods. I enjoyed your company together with my first cousin Meenah. Though my vacation in NY with my sister was brief, the frequent visits you both did was very much appreciated, and will be unforgettable. Your cousin, Beth (aka Lilibeth)

Book of Prophet Sirach 6:5 - 6
“A gentle word make many friends, an agreeable tongue calls forth gracious replies. Let your friend be many, but your counselors, one in a thousand!”
My Kuya Raul, my big brother, my friend, my counselor, my idol and I am a big fan. I remember how you bring us to the church every Sunday and I admire seeing you in the sanctuary while serving the mass. How I aspire to be one and do not fail because of your help and guidance. Helping to learn and memorize the Misa Resitata. There are much, much ,much more. Thank you for everything.
We love you Kuya.

Having been the eldest brother in a big family of nine, he had always been a disciplinarian. He detested wise guy demeanor and wouldn't tolerate smart Alecky remarks. Because of that my sister Fe and I had called him Pope Raul.

These last few years with my father were a huge gift, especially during the time that I was studying at Fordham University in the Bronx. I'm so glad that we could share laughs, food and prayer. I'm really going to miss his laughter, his cooking and his encouragement. No words suffice to say how much I love him.

After so many years, brothers Raul (Tito Lito) and Papa Bert finally meet in New Jersey. It was a joyous and very memorable day. It was the first time my daughter Rea Therese, son Jose Gabriel and husband Crispin to have met Tito Lito and Tita Meena . The sumptuous lunch was unforgettable—pochero with his homemade chorizo, pork barbeque and quiquiam among other things. We will miss Tito Lito so dearly.------ Jacqueline Alonzo.
