Dear Grandma, I am sorry to be so far away from the family at this time of grief. I am thankful however to feel you smiling. Our conversation yesterday was reassuring for me, thank you for being so clear. As I my eyes shut your words were easily heard and my mouth a subtle smile. I am glad to know Grandpa and you are reconnecting. I miss the family very much as I am sure you do as well. Please say hello to those who are missing you. Just this past Thanksgiving, we spent the holiday with Joe and Anne's family including Charlotte. It was such a pleasure conversing with this vibrant, engaged woman. We spoke of books, family history and politics, and were impressed with what a thoughtful, intellectual and considerate person she was; well informed, but also open to the viewpoints of others.
