Obituary of Joseph Mrak
Joseph "Joe" Mrak, 92, passed away Friday, June 03, 2011 at The Pines at Whiting. Born in Trieste, Italy, Joe lived in Pine Beach, NJ and Port Richey FL before moving to Whiting in 2001. He was retired from Englert, Inc. in Perth Amboy, NJ, and was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
While in Florida, Joe was active in the Elks and served as Exalted Ruler of the Aripeka Lodge in Hudson FL, 1986-87. He donated generously of his time as a fundraiser and volunteer for the Florida Elks Children's Hospital and other Elk-sponsored youth programs. He also loved reading, cooking, doing crossword puzzles and listening to his granddaughter K.C. Mrak perform at piano and voice recitals.
Joe was predeceased by his wife, Julia in 2005. He is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, John Mrak of Lake Forest, CA, Joseph and Mary Mrak of Fort Wayne, IN, James and Leta Mrak of Odessa, FL, and Nicholas Mrak of Bayville; a daughter and her partner Jeanne Mrak and Fred Ely of Lawrenceville; a daughter, Andrea Mrak of Forked River; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 6, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will be offered Tuesday, June 7, at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Barnegat, NJ.
