Obituary of Salvatore Gamba
Salvatore A. Gamba, 85, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at home. Born in New York City, NY, he lived in Jersey City, Brick Twp. and Toms River before moving to Whiting in 2001. Salvatore worked for McLean Trucking Co., for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lucy in 1992 and his son, Stephen in 2001. He is survived by four children, Peggy Walsh, Mary Foltyn, Michael Gamba and Salvatore Gamba, Jr.; a brother, Richard Gamba; a sister, Dorothy Gamba; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Relatives and friends may call today, May 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
