Obituary of Henry Pfeiffer

Henry Pfeiffer, 93, of Pine Ridge of Whiting, passed away Saturday, April 09, 2011 at Whiting Healthcare Center. Henry was born in Newark and lived in Bloomfield prior to moving to Whiting in 1985. He worked for Ward Bakery in Newark for 35 years, retiring in 1980. Henry was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 502, Whiting. He was a member of the Pine Ridge Old Guard, Safety Patrol and Lake Shore Social Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine in 1997. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Inge Pfeiffer of Long Beach Island; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Robert Goldy of Sayreville; one brother, Willy Pfeiffer of Union; two granddaughters and their spouses, Marina and Robert Bruno of Florida and Cynthia and John De Forne of Jackson and two great-granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda De Forne. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday April 12, 2011 at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, N. Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
