Obituary of Margaret Durkin

Margaret M. Durkin, 89, of Whiting, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at home. She was an executive secretary with Continental Insurance Company for 42 years. Margaret was born in Newark, NJ and lived in Westfield and Cranford, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1985. She was a former member of the Bocce Club of Crestwood Village 5. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Margaret Durkin and her brother, John. Surviving are her sister, Kathryn, with whom she lived and four nieces and nephews, Maryjane, Denise, Edward and John and many grand nieces and nephews, all of Washington State. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 11, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942.
