Obituary of Jeanne Farrell
Jeanne Frances Farrell, 86 of Crestwood Village VI, in Whiting, passed away on Saturday, January 8th at home after a long illness. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Joseph A. Farrell, her parents Edward and Esther Flynn, and her brother Edward Flynn.
Jeanne was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1924, and was a graduate of Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in Ozone Park, NY. She was employed in the Bursar's Office at Long Island University, prior to her marriage to Joseph Farrell in 1946, who was the love of her life.
Jeanne was a woman of strong determination, and great compassion. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to many. Her family was always her priority and she was so proud of her children, her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her precious grandchildren and great grandchild. She lived a full life with strong faith, grace, love and respect for others.Jeanne met her beloved husband Joseph at a USO dance in Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn in 1945, and their love of dancing continued throughout their wonderful life together.
The family lived in Fords, NJ and Beach Haven, NJ, before relocating to Whiting in 1982. Jeanne was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 471, Iselin, New Jersey, a member of Crestwood Village VI Residents Club, the Women's Club, and the Line Dance Club. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
She is survived by her five children: Three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Susan Farrell, Johns Creek, Georgia, Robert and Denise Farrell, Marlborough, MA, William and Dawn Farrell, Fernandina Beach, Florida; Two daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Walter Addiss, Wappingers Falls, New York, Eileen and John Webb, Jackson, New Jersey; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, January 13th at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Friday at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, followed by interment at Brig General William C.
