Obituary of Grace Williamson

Grace Williamson, age 90, of Whiting, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at The Pines of Whiting. Born in New York City, she was a New Jersey resident for most of her life. Grace married Edward J. Williamson in 1955 and after living in Kansas City, Plainfield, NJ and Boonton, NJ, they eventually settled in Chalfont, Bucks County, PA to raise their two sons, Scott and Kirk, as well as their beloved bulldogs, Muggs and Slugger. Grace was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Cub Scouts, swim teams and Little League as well as with her church. She also worked as a merchandiser for Gibson Greeting Cards. In 1985, Grace relocated to Whiting, New Jersey to be close to her mother Elizabeth “Betty” Deuchars. Prior to her retirement, Grace worked as a receptionist and office manager at Logan Manor in Whiting. Grace was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toms River. She also was actively involved in her Crestwood community, where she enjoyed playing golf and bocce as well as organizing numerous outings to Atlantic City and New York City for Broadway shows. A lifelong reader, Grace enjoyed nothing more than sitting outside or at the beach with a good book. She also enjoyed entertaining her friends and neighbors and cherished the times she spent on her patio chatting with friends. She was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Deuchars, and is predeceased by her husband, Edward. She is survived by her sons, Scott Williamson of Jamison, PA and Kirk Williamson and his wife, Nancy, of Wellesley, MA as well as her grandchildren ​ Keegan Williamson of Alexandria, VA, Cullen Williamson of Arvada, CO, Teddy Williamson of Philadelphia, PA and Katie Williamson of Wellesley, MA. A small, family funeral service is planned for January 10, 2022 at Fairmount Cemetery in Philipsburg, NJ where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Edward.
