Obituary of Winifred Schoendorf

Winifred Schoendorf, 93, of Whiting, NJ, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Green Acres in Toms River, NJ. Winifred, lovingly known as Winnie, was born in Liverpool, England and settled in Kearny, NJ followed by residency in North Arlington, NJ. She spent several years working as a banquet hostess before her employment with The Bell Telephone Company in Glen Ridge, NJ as a directory clerk. After retiring from Bell Telephone, she moved to Crestwood Village in Whiting, NJ where she was an active communicant at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Winifred was a doting mother and grandmother who loved being with her family. She also was an accomplished pianist who joyfully could be found at her piano playing her favorite Irish songs as well as creating her own music. Her home was always filled with laughter, song, and beautiful family memories. Winifred was predeceased by her beloved son, Robert. She is survived by three sons, Nick and his wife, Mary, Joseph and his wife, Frieda, Kevin, and one much loved sister, Mary. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan, Kyle, Evan, Amanda, Joseph, Michael and Robert, Jr. along with four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kiely, Nicholas and Abigail. She was also a caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, August 21st at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. Inurnment will follow at the chapel. Donations in Winifred’s memory to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated by her family.
