Obituary of F. Thomas Fisher, Jr.

F. Thomas Fisher, Jr., Age 80, of Country Walk, Whiting, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2021. Born in Kearny and a long-time resident of Edison, Tom graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1958 followed by enlistment in the U.S. Navy. Tom is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Emily (Kauffman) Fisher and first wife, Joan S. Bonett Fisher. He is survived by his second wife, Agnes DeBrito Fisher; daughters, Tobi Silver and her husband, Morris and Judy ThummBorst and her husband, Hendrik; grandsons, Jacob Silver and his fiancée, Sarah Forster, Zachary ThummBorst, Benjamin Silver and Zane ThummBorst; and his siblings, Carol Joslin, Richard Fisher and his wife, Geraldine, Susan Agans and her husband, Robert, and William Fisher and his wife, Sandy. His career as a systems analyst began as a key punch operator at Burry Biscuit and progressed to RCA’s David Sarnoff Research Center, surviving its many mergers and ending with his retirement from Lockheed Martin in 2000. A lifelong Yankee fan, Tom’s competitive spirit permeated his love for sports and absolute need to win at everything from family card games to the Country Walk Bowling and Horseshoe leagues. Visitation hours will be held at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759 on Monday, August 2nd from 2pm to 6pm. Memorial Services will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting NJ 08759 on Tuesday, August 3rd at 10:45am.
