Obituary of Lois Phillips

Lois Phillips, 84, caring wife and mother, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at home in Whiting, NJ. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, Lois lived in Congers, NY before moving to Whiting 20 years ago. She worked at the Rockland County Personnel Office in New York as a receptionist for 26 years. She was a member of the Staten Island Ski Club where she met the love of her life, John J. Phillips. Lois was a member of the Lutheran Quilters Club. She enjoyed sewing and knitting caps and baby blankets. She loved to travel and was very involved in her community at the Meadows. Lois was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, John, on January 2, 2021 and her brother, Arthur Noordzy. She is survived by her two sons, David and Paul (Kurt Gilman); her brother, Tom Noordzy, Sr. and his wife, Janet; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Noordzy and Maureen Robinson; nephews, Tom, Jr. (Theodora) and Michael (Jaclyn); great-niece, Veronica; niece, Tammy Langer (Chris) and their kids, Helen and Mike and many dear friends in the Meadows. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.
