Obituary of Richard Roman Anton

Richard (“Jolly” Rich) Roman Anton, devoted husband, father, and grandfather (Dziadziu), passed away on November 23, 2020. Rich is survived by his loving wife Monica Anton (Kruszewski), his children Michele Adamski (Gerry), Rick Anton (Heather Henry), and Adam Anton, his beloved grandchildren or as he called them the “Winkie Dinks,” Matthew, Aniela, & Zachary Adamski, his adopted grandchildren Shawn & Colin Henry, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Susan and Frank Gorchess, nephews Frank (Denise) and Glenn, his Aunts Patricia Anton and Anna Lepski and his many cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Adam & Antoinette Anton, and his grandparents Stanley & Mary Anton and Roman & Helen Lepski. Rich was born on November 2, 1947 in Elizabeth, NJ. Even though Rich was an only child, his cousins were like his siblings, and he cherished those relationships throughout his life. On October 14, 1972, Rich married the love of his life, Monica. They spent the rest of their lives in support of each other and setting a lifelong foundation for their family. Rich worked as a purchasing manager during his career at companies such as OmniFlight, AirCruisers, Oasis Foods, and Homasote, where he spent most of his career. Rich had many interests. One of his biggest passions was his love of polka music. Rich played the clarinet and saxophone and was the leader of several well-known bands. Jolly Rich, as he was called, recorded several albums and traveled the country with his bands bringing joy to countless numbers. HIs love of music, golf, sports, religion, and most importantly, his family, made him a great, unique, and wonderful man. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at St Isidore the Farmer Parish-Church of the Assumption Campus in Wrightstown, NJ, 08562. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Church followed by the funeral mass. His family will be present to welcome loved ones while wearing face coverings and respecting social distancing guidelines. Grave side services will occur at St Mary’s Cemetery on Cranbury Road in East Brunswick, NJ following mass. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly asks to offer donations in memory of Rich to support his grandson Matthew’s Eagle Scout project. Matthew is installing a Rosary Prayer Garden at the Church of the Assumption that he will dedicate in his Dziadziu’s memory.
