Obituary of Josephine Tempio
Josephine (Dolly) Tempio, 97, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at home. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she lived in New Milford, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1980. Josephine worked for B. Altman & Company Department Store in Paramus, NJ and Bloomingdale’s Department Store in Hackensack, NJ. She was a member of the Village 5 Residents Club, Women’s Club, Italian Club and Bocce Club. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting and a volunteer of the church’s Helping Hands Ministry. She also volunteered for Somebody C.A.R.E.S. in Whiting.
Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband, James V. Tempio in 2008 as well as her loving son, James R. Tempio shortly thereafter that same year. She was also predeceased by her four loving siblings. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Kathy Bianchi of Leonia, NJ and Maria McCann of Circleville, NY; her loving son, Richard S. Tempio of Decatur, GA; four precious grandchildren and three very precious great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Wednesday, September 30th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. Inurnment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
