Obituary of Nell G. Corey

Nell G. Corey, 98, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting. Born in Kingston, PA, she lived in Haworth, NJ before retiring to Whiting with her husband Paul in 1986. She was an avid reader and a wiz at crosswords. While enjoying her favorite shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, she was always the first one to know the answers to all the questions and puzzles. When she and Paul retired they enjoyed a good round of golf in the summer with their friends in New Jersey and her brother in Florida in the winter months. Nell loved to travel and cruise with Paul. She was particularly fond of visiting most of our National Parks, Europe and the Caribbean. Nell was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and Knit Wits. She was also a member of the Whiting First Aid Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Nell was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul in 1996 and her 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by 3 children, Cynthia Cass and her husband Richard (Bud) of Tilghman, Maryland; Mark Corey and his wife Barbara of Naples, Florida; and Beth O'Keefe and her husband Kevin of Ramsey New Jersey. She was a proud Nana to her grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan and Kristin Cass; Laura Murphy, Lisa MacDonald and Tricia Corey; and Kevin, Sean and Kailey O'Keefe. She was a Great Nana to Jonah, Alexandra and Andrew Cass; Logan and Madeline Murphy; Callie and Mackenzie MacDonald. Visitation will be private on Wednesday, August 12th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, August 13th at 10:45am at St. ELizabeth Ann Seton CHurch, Whiting. Entombment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park.
