Obituary of Martin R. Rasmussen

Martin R. Rasmussen, 77, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Martin was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. He moved to Manchester Twp. in 1982. Martin was an assembly line worker for Proctor and Gamble Company in Staten Island, NY. He then worked for Frito Lay in Toms River for 10 years. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing Lotto and going on trips to Atlantic City where he frequented Harrah’s and Showboat. He loved crabbing and fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martin is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Alberta Rasmussen; one son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Taryn Rasmussen of Manchester; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Keith Fallon of Manchester; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Angie Rasmussen; one sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Bo Webb; four grandchildren, Danielle and her husband, Steven, Taylor, Nikki and Keith, Jr. and two great-grandchildren, Carson and Raegan. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd from 4 to 6 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ.
