Obituary of Henry Wisniewski
Henry Wisniewski, 93, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at home. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, he moved to Elizabeth in 1952 and lived there until he came to Whiting in 2000. Henry was a foreman for H. F. Butler Steel Company in Union, NJ, from where he retired. He was a hospital guard at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth until 2000. Henry was a baseball fan of the NY Yankees and a football fan. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. Most of all, he loved his family. He was a caregiver to his wife of 60 years before her passing in 2013. Dad was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Henry was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting.
Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mildred Wisniewski in 2013. He is survived by his two daughters, Susan Goldenbaum and her husband, Ed and Carol Drury and her husband Walter; one son, Steven Wisneski; one brother, William “Luke” Wisnieski; four grandchildren, Kristen Charleston and her husband, Timothy, Melissa Goldenbaum, Alexandra Goldenbaum and Caitlin Drury and three great-grandchildren, Gwen, Shane and Luke Charleston.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 5th from 2 to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan 7th from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Donations in Henry’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 would be greatly appreciated by his family.
