Obituary of John J. Hopkins

   John J. Hopkins, 90, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Crestwood Manor in Whting.  Born in Hackensack, NJ, he lived in Matawan and Clark before moving to Whiting six years ago.  John was an operating engineer for 40 years with the Operating Engineers, Local 825 in Springfield, NJ.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He enjoyed sailing, camping and traveling.  He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Clark, NJ. 

   John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Dorothy Hopkins on September 13, 2019 and his son, Jeffrey. He is survived by his son, Jack and his son, Brian; his son Stephen and his wife, Sandy and their children, Katie, Kevin and Sean.        

   Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 29^th from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road , Whiting. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will followed at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.  No gifts necessary, your kind thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
