Obituary of Joseph S. Wachala

Joseph S. Wachala, 95, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting.  Born in Portage Twp., PA, he lived in Bloomfield before moving to Whiting in 2009.  Joseph was a machinist and tool maker for Linker Machines in Newark.  He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion, Post #502.  He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting.

   Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Josephine in 2000.  He is survived by one son, Matthew Wachala and his wife, Frances of Millstone Twp, NJ; two daughters, Elaine Witte and her husband, Robert of Murrells Inlet, SC and Anne Wachala of Whiting; one brother, Bernard Wachala of Collegeville, PA; one sister, Mary Rusniaczeis; four grandchildren, Jason Durham, Cheryl Lowry and her husband, Gregory, Pamela Barber and her husband, Frank and Chelsea Wachala and one great-grandchild.

   Visitation will be Friday, July 19th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ.  A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Saturday, July 20th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.  Memorial contributions in Joseph’s memory to ARC of Brick would be appreciated.
