Obituary of Ruth H. Hanek

   Ruth H. Hanek, 90, of Whiting, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at home.  Born in Newark, she lived in Fairfield, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1995.  Ruth was a homemaker.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. 

   Ruth was predeceased by her cherished daughter, Joann Hanek in 1959 and her dear brother, Norman Gramlich.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Alexander Hanek; two loving daughters, Janet Willard and Christine Hanek, both of Whiting; one loving son, Robert Hanek and his wife, Michele Wall of Hollis, NH; one sister, Susan Malool; five grandchildren, Jason Willard, Ariele Hanek, Jennifer Willard, Bailey Hanek and Adam Willard and three great-grandchildren, Adelaine Correa, Oliver Correa and Alexandra Willard.

   Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.  A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Thursday, June 20th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.  Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.  Donations in Ruth’s memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
