Obituary of ROBERT "Bob" HOLMES

   ROBERT “Bob” HOLMES, age 75 of Whiting, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019  at home. Born in Bayshore, NY, he lived in Brooklyn and Long Island most of his life before moving to Whiting, New Jersey in 2007.

Bob worked for Xerox in New York City as a fax machine repairman for many years. He was a school bus driver in Southampton Twp. NJ for the past 5 years. While living in Brooklyn, New York, he was a deacon at Canarsie Reformed Church and a treasurer at Christ Community Reformed Church. Bob loved the outdoors, photography and painting.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathleen "Kathie"; his mother, Mary Holmes of Leland, North Carolina; his daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” and her husband, Peter Candelario and their children, Peter III, Kasey, James and his wife, Christy, Dian, and Kayden Candelario, all of Valdosta, Georgia; his daughter, Teresa “Terri” Holmes and her daughter, Laura Holmes of Brooklyn, NY; and his son, Thomas and his wife, Loreanna “Laurie” Holmes of Brooklyn, NY. Also surviving are his brother, Edward and his wife, JoAnne Holmes of Islip, NY; his sister, Barbara and her husband, Anthony Barone of Leland, North Carolina; and his beloved pets, Boots and Buddy.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 11th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 11am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Wounded Warriors in memory of Bob would be greatly appreciated.
