Obituary of Patricia Rose

Patricia M. Rose, 83, of Whiting, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center in Manahawkin.She was born in the Bronx, NY to John and Alice McDonald. 

Patricia was a wonderful storyteller and an adventurous soul. She grew up in Jersey City, NJ where she met her husband, George. Together, they loved traveling the world. Always driven to be independent, Patricia enjoyed her career as an accounting manager for both Van Heusen Clothing Manufacturer and Ayerst Laboratories. She spent her summers swimming and hosting parties on Long Beach Island. Patricia loved reading mysteries, watching the Little League World Series, and crafting with her six grandchildren. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Colleen F. Rose of Whiting and Beth A. O’Brien and her husband John of Allentown, NJ.  Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Christine, Mackenzie, Dylan, and Aidan. 

Patricia is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, George F. Rose in 2003, and her two sons, Kevin George Rose, and Patrick John Rose.

  Visitation will be Friday, March 29th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 30th at 12 noon at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Should you wish to send flowers in lieu of a donation, please include at least one of her favorite flowers, a thorny Rose.
