I met Buzz through the car hobby in early 2000s, more often than not I would find myself bumping into him and conversing at many local race tracks for import drag racing and Nissan 300zx specific shows/gatherings. Buzz was a wealth of information, his mechanical and technical knowledge was such an asset to the 300zx community. His technical articles have helped many people understand and troubleshoot issues with their cars on the twinturbo.net forum. I'm glad to have crossed paths with him, my condolences. -Josh

Always enjoyed being in the company of Buzz. Whether it was flying the C-131, KC-135 or talking about personal finance and church matters it was always a nice conversation. I was the new guy and Buzz was always one to make everyone feel comfortable. He will definitely be missed!

Buzz was our neighbor in Whiting. As we were both pilots, he delighted in telling me about his experiences flying. For a while he was a common site riding his bike around our community. He was always ready to lend a helping hand when he could.
Dee and I will miss him.

We were neighbors of Buzz and Jan for many years in Southampton NJ and we were lucky enough to have known him. I spent many hours talking to him on his daily bike rides around the neighborhood. Buzz was the first one to lend a hand any chance he could and befriended many other neighbors by offering his mechanical ability. It was an honor knowing Mr. Sawyer, good bye my friend.

Buzz was a great brother in law to be with even though would only see him on their visits to Green Bay. But we have special memories of a family camping trip with our 3 kids in their driveway especially the day out in his sail boat. Our prayers and thoughts are with Janet and the kids.

I met Buzz in 1977, when I first joined the 170th ARG and worked with him until he retired. We flew countless hours in the KC135, and pulled alert numerous times. My condolences to his family. I will always remember the times we spent discussing the ins and outs of the stock markets over the years and how to invest wisely. RIP, my friend.

So sorry to hear about Buzz. I only met him a few times in Green Bay but I did like him. A very nice man who raised wonderful children. It is hard to lose a dad. Remember all the fun times and celebrate his adventure packed life.

My Condolences to you and your Family. I knew Buzz only in our Family meetings and I knew the Kids from the same. In the time that we did meet I always enjoyed him and I know my folks did as well. We didn't see a lot of Buzz and the family as we lived in Wisconsin and he was out in Delaware and New Jersey. But I remember a visit when I believe he had this Triumph sports car. One where you felt your rear was hitting the highway while you were moving in the car. Buzz loved that car and loved taking us out for a ride. You couldn't beat his smile on those days.
Great man who served his family and country with integrity. He will be missed.
But he is flying again with the angels now. The ultimate Triumph ride!!
