Obituary of Mae Gladys Nieman

Mae Gladys Nieman, 88, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Park Ridge, NJ and Philadelphia, PA before moving to Whiting in 1995.  Mae was a legal secretary for Kleinberg & Taylor in Park Ridge.  She was a member of the Crestwood Village VI Women’s Club and volunteered at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society.  Mae was a devout Christian and beloved wife, mother and grandmother who was a blessed role model to all who loved her.

   Mae is survived by her husband of 68 years, William J. Nieman; three children and their spouses, William and Mary Nieman of Rockaway Twp, NJ, Brian and Frieda Nieman of Los Angeles, CA and Pamela and Dan Curtin of Wheaton, IL; one sister, Marilyn Traverso of Little Ferry, NJ; six grandchildren, Emily, Billy, Nicoleen and her husband, Nat, Matt, Erin and Kevin and one great-granddaughter,

   A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, Oct. 5th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.  Inurnment will follow at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
