Obituary of Murlin "Monte" R. Lower

   Murlin “Monte” R. Lower, 88, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at The Pines at Whiting.  Born in Grand Rapids, MI, he lived in Hopatcong, NJ before moving to Whiting in 2013.  Murlin was a U.S. Air Force Pilot for 22 years during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, retiring as a Major in 1969.  He then was Chief Pilot for ABEX for 10 years. He was a member of the AFA Air Force Association and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9852 in Whiting. Murlin was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
  

   He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary F. Lower; three children and their spouses, Dr. Raymond and Patti Lower of Waterford, VA, Margaret and Michael Siciliano of Venice, FL and Brian and Lynn Lower of Toms River; brother, Robert S. Lower; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
  

   Visitation will be today, October 5th from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Friday, October 6th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.  Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
