Obituary of Paul J. Geraghty
Paul J. Geraghty, 95, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at home. Born in Manhattan, he was raised in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn NY. He later moved to Staten Island, where he raised his family and then retired to Whiting in the 1980’s. Paul was a Staff Supervisor for NY Tell for 36 years, retiring in 1980. He was responsible for the Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island areas. He was an Army Air Force, CBI, AAF Radio Transmitter during World War II. He was a Boxer and was featured in Ring Magazine in the 1940’s. Paul enjoyed golf, flying airplanes, fishing, boating and exercise.
Paul was predeceased by his brother, John Geraghty in 1980 and his son-in-law, Joseph Cinque. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Muriel Geraghty; two daughters, Jo-Ann Loiacno of Jupiter, FL and Muriel Catherine Geraghty-Cinque of Hamptons, NY; four brothers-in-law, Joseph, Edward, Ted, and George; two grandchildren, TJ and Sean Kucharski and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ava and Mya.
Visitation will be Friday, May 12th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a service at 8 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.
