Obituary of Anna L. Amato
Anna L. Amato, 89, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Laurelton Village Care Center in Brick. Born in Swoyerville, PA, she lived in Jersey City before moving to Whiting in 2007. Anna was a secretary and office clerk at Western Electric, retiring in 1985. She then went to work at Prudential Bank from 1985 to 1992. She was a member of Christ Hospital Auxiliary, Golden Ages, Lady of Fatima, AARP and Pioneers of America. She typed the bulletin for St. Nicholas Church. Anna loved to travel. She also loved bingo, scratch off lottery tickets, Atlantic City and country music. She read the Bible cover to cover starting January 4, 1965 and finishing December 6, 1996. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
Anna was predeceased by her parents and the love of her life, Eddie Gayges; her brothers, Lucian and Anthony and four sisters, Vivian, Mary, Pauline and Carmella. She is survived by one brother, Patrick; one sister, Shirley Panetta and her husband, Frank; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28th from 2 to 6 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday, April 29th at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Rd., Fair Haven, NJ. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery.
