Obituary of Richard F. Scott

Richard F. Scott, 89, of Whiting, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at Green Acres Manor in Toms River. Born in Cleveland, OH, he lived in Sayreville before moving to Whiting. Richard was a special investigator for Equifax in New York City for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran during World War II. He was Post Commander of the V.F.W. Post 4699, Sayreville and a Scoutmaster of Troop 62, Parlin. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen Scott in 2013 and his son, Daniel Edward Scott in 2016. He is survived by three daughters, Jane Minnella of Whiting, Laura Kasnowski of Toms River and Nancy Chin of Evesham; four sons, James Scott of Buffalo, NY, Thomas Scott of East Brunswick, Michael Scott of Newtown, PA and Jeffrey Scott of East Brunswick; 14 grandchildren, Lewis, Nicholas, Michelle, Matthew, Eric, Tiffany, Naura, Dylan, Douglas, Dana, Zachary, Brandon, Justin, and Bethany; 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sonja, Lincoln, and Eleanor. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 26th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Feb. 27th at 9 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Donations in his memory may be made to the V.F.W. Post 4699, Sayreville, NJ or the Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America, 705 Ginesi Drive, Morganville, NJ 07751.
