Obituary of Anne Svec

Anne Svec, 95, of Whiting, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Pines at Whiting. Born in Manhattan, NY, she lived in the Bronx, NY before moving to Whiting in 1983. Anne was a salesperson at Macy’s in the Bronx and then was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting and a member of the church’s Sewing Circle. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Svec in 2011, her cherished son, Charles in 1961 and her sisters, Betty Lomicky in 2013 and Olga Hermayer in 2015. She is survived by her son, Ronald Svec and his wife, Sharon of Wall; her daughter, Joanne Svec and her granddaughter, Jennifer Matuzas both, of San Diego, CA. The family wants to personally thank the staff of The Pines at Whiting and Holisticare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of their beloved Anne. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7th at Christ Lutheran Church, 40 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting with a Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
