Obituary of William D Georgeson

William D. “Bill” Georgeson, Age 73, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Forked River, NJ passed away peacefully on August 18, 2016. Loving husband of Carole (nee Kasper) and father of Brian and his wife Laura and Shaun and his wife Victoria. William was a loving grandfather to Daniel, Ryan, Jayden, and Landon. William graduated from Richard Stockton College in 1974. He served his country proudly first as a Green Beret, 1st Special Forces Group in the 1960’s prior to enlisting in the New Jersey Army National Guard where he served as a First Sergeant prior to retiring in 1997. William began his career as a Lacey Township patrolman in the 1960’s prior to leaving and working for the New Jersey State Public Defender’s Office, where he ultimately retired as a Chief Investigator. William volunteered his time with several different entities over the years including, serving one term on the Lacey Township School Board, a baseball coach with the Lacey Township Little League, and later as a volunteer with the military support group American Recreational Military Services (ARMS), which assisted in providing needed services to military personnel fighting for our freedom. As William enjoyed his retirement, he spent his spare time working in his garden and delivering the fruits of his new found hobby to family and friends. As William became ill and spent the later days of his life, he received compassionate and loving care from all of the employees located at the AristaCare located in Manchester, NJ. A private memorial service will be held at the Ocean County Memorial Park located in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William to either the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association of New Jersey would be greatly appreciated.
