Obituary of Robert W. Kyte
Robert W. Kyte, 92, of Whiting, formerly of Kenvil and Boonton, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Louise (Nauta), his daughter, Patricia Fields (Gregory) of Cochranton, PA and his two sons, Kenneth Kyte (Marcie Ryan) of Ewing Twp. and Thomas Kyte, Sr. of Lake Hopatcong. Bob and Louise have 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Eleanor (Hunt), sister, Geraldine Vail and daughter-in-law, Sandra (Forrester) Kyte.
Before his death, he was the oldest, living Chief of Boonton’s Fire Department. He was recognized in 1997 by New Jersey State Firemen’s Association for his 50 years of dedication to the Harmony Hose & Engine Company #2, the Boonton Fire Department and the residents of Boonton. Bob was the former vice president of the Boonton Trust Co. for 20 years and later owned and operated his own business manufacturing bank supplies. He was a member of the St. Clare’s Hospital Corpsmen and Roxbury Rotary Club among many other community activities. He was loved by many and had a lasting impact on everyone he met.
A private ceremony will be held at the chapel prior to interment at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.
