Obituary of Herman Maschin
Herman (Herk) Maschin, 91, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Monmouth Medical Center South in Lakewood. Born in Germany, he came to the United States in 1925 and grew up in Nanticoke, PA. He lived in Spotswood, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1999. Herman owned and operated Maschin Metal Polishing and Plating in Manhattan for 35 years. He was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4815 in Old Bridge. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Marion; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ethan Margolis; four grandchildren, Glenn and his wife, Katie, Andrea, Meredith and Erika and two great-grandchildren, Lilliana and Emmeline.
Visitation will be Monday, March 28th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Tuesday, March 29th at 10:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
