Obituary of Rita Shea

Rita Shea, 94, of Glen Spey, NY, formerly of Whiting, NJ, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Rita lived in Floral Park, NY and Whiting before moving to Glen Spey, NY. She was an Admin Officer for the U.S. Government in New York City, NY for 29 years. She then worked as a secretary for Morgan Guaranty Trust Company in New York City for 12 years before retiring. Rita volunteered at the New York Foundling Hospital in New York City and was a member of the Whiting Station Residents Club. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society. Rita was predeceased by her husband, John Shea in 2013 and her two brothers, James and Thomas Gleason. She is survived by her two nephews, Robert and James Gleason and her niece, Patricia Bianconi. She was a loving godmother of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. Inurnment will follow at the chapel. Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting is in charge of arrangements.
