Obituary of Mildred K. Freitag
Mildred K. Freitag, 104, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Bey Lea Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Toms River. Born in Newark, she lived there, Scotch Plains and Forked River before moving to Whiting. Mildred was a member of the Women’s Club and Residents Club of Harmony Hall. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society.
Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Ernest G. Freitag and two sisters, Harriet Jindela and Clara Cunnane. She is survived by four children, W. Peter Freitag (Edel), E. Paul Freitag (Joan), Marianne Cancellieri (Tom), and Annmarie Clarke (Wayne); nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be offered Tuesday, Dec. 22nd at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Burial will follow at Whiting Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
