Obituary of Rosemarie DeGorter

Rosemarie DeGorter, 74, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at home. She was born in Brooklyn, NY where she lived most of her life until moving to Whiting in 2007. Rosemarie was a secretary for Kings Highway Orthopedic Group in Brooklyn, NY for 15 years, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and trips to Atlantic City. Rosemarie was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Theodore DeGorter; two children, Nancy Renner and her husband, Anthony of Staten Island, NY and Michael DeGorter of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Frances D’Alessio of Whiting and Angela Waters of Brook Haven, Long Island, NY and fives grandchildren, Anthony, and Anna Rose Renner and Nichole, Taylor and Camryn DeGorter. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 25th from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
