Obituary of Anton Tribel

Anton Tribel passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3rd, surrounded by his wife and children. His family will receive visitors at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting on Wednesday, Oct. 7th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, then proceed next door for a Funeral Mass at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. A private military burial service will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Tony celebrated 70 years of marriage to Josephine (Murtagh) on September 22, 2015. He leaves behind daughters, Joanne Tribel (Rich Plaza), Alice Ford (Richard), a son, Anton (Marie), grandchildren, Amy, Jennifer, Kevin, Michael, Anton and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Drew, Nicole, Kylie and Paige. He served as a Sergeant in World War II, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and Bronze Star for valor.
