Obituary of Thomas G. Schreiber

Thomas G. Schreiber, 93, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at home. He was born in Guttenberg, NJ to the late Eva and Thomas E. Schreiber. He married his high school sweetheart on February 4, 1943. He lived in Dumont, NJ for 33 years before moving to Crestwood Village 7 in the Whiting Section of Manchester Twp., NJ in 1982. Thomas worked for Western Electric for 40 years before retiring in 1981. He was a U.S. Coast Guard WWII veteran and served his country proudly. Thomas was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting. Thomas was an avid bowler and loved playing a round of golf. He loved spending time with his family, especially camping and the beach. He was so generous with his time and advice when needed. He was a wonderful husband and father. Thomas was predeceased by his son, Gary; granddaughter, Elizabeth and sister, Dorothy. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Wilberta; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Madeline Schreiber of Whiting, NJ; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bruce VanKlompenberg of Berlin, MD, Kathy and Lawrence Webb of Whiting, NJ and Mary Beth and Robert Nicholas of Monroe, NY; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, NJ. Inurnment will follow at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
