Obituary of Marie Sara Marquet

Marie Sara Marquet, 96, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Marie was born in Newark, NJ in 1918. She graduated from Newark State Teachers College in 1940 and received her Masters Degree in 1943 from Rutgers University. She was a teacher in the Livingston School System, Short Hills Millburn Township and Manchester Township. She moved to Whiting in 1974 and joined the Crestwood Chorus that same year. She was a member of the Residents Club, Garden Club and Women’s Club of Crestwood Village III and the Ocean County Retired Educators Association. Marie was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church’s Altar-Rosary Society and Library Guild. She was also a CCD teacher. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph E. and Pearl Ryno Marquet. She is survived by many dear cousins and friends. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 20th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Entombment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
