Obituary of William McCarthy
William F. McCarthy, 72, of Manchester Twp, passed away on August 8, 2010, at home. Born in the Bronx, NY and resided in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Old Bridge, before moving to Silverwoods in 2006. He worked as an accountant for the MTA, New York City Transit. William was a Master Sergeant in the US Army Reserves, for 25 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the St. Ambrose Senior Club. William is an Alumni of Iona College, New Rochelle, NY, (1960), and Power Memorial High School (1956), Manhattan, NY. He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Old Bridge and St. Maximilian Catholic Church, Toms River.
William is predeceased by his mother Julia Cannon McCarthy, his father Matthew McCarthy, and his brothers Matthew J. McCarthy and Joseph D. McCarthy. He is survived by his nephews, Raymond McCarthy and his wife Luanne of Lima, OH, Martin McCarthy and his wife Kathleen of Jackson, NJ and their children Meghan, Raymond and Lisa; his two nieces Carole and her husband Charles Del Plato of Brick, NJ, and Dyan and her husband Bernard Rosario of Branchburg, NJ, and their children Kenneth and Daniel; one sister in-law, Margaret Collins, and many beloved cousins.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30am, on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church 96 Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge, NJ. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities P.O. Box 1423 Trenton, NJ 08607-1423.
