Obituary of Michael Meyers

Michael J. Meyers, 77, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Michael was born and raised in Piscataway. He moved to Whiting in 2003. He was the head custodian for the Plainfield Board of Education for 34 years, retiring in 1995. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Michael is survived by his wife of 51 years, Josephine A. Meyers; one daughter, Michele Meyers of Sussex; five sisters, Dorothy Saracusa, Catherine Jarema, Florence Stites, Barbara Papa and Lucille Recker; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dolores and Richard Walton and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 11 a.m., Monday, June 14, at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, 21 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
