Obituary of Thomas Gorman
Thomas Gorman, 75, of Whiting, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Mr. Gorman was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Pittsford, NY before moving to Whiting in 1999. He was a US Air Force Tech Sergeant during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, serving 20 years and retiring in 1973. He then worked for Kodak. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and was a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Thomas Moore Parish in Brighton, NY. More than anything else, he cherished spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by six brothers. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jocelyn; six children, Thomas P. Gorman, Teresa LeBourgeois, Linda Stefanski, Jocelyn Bragg, Charles Gorman and Catherine Griffith; two brothers, Daniel and Charles Gorman; two sisters, Julia Ryan and Elizabeth Foster and 17 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., Monday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, 10 to 10:45 a.m., at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Van Dyke Hospice, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755-6423.
