Obituary of Leonard Sheehan
Leonard T. Sheehan, 90, of Whiting, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at home. Born on June 13, 1919, in Stuyvesant, NY. He resided in Woodbridge before moving to Crestwood Village 3, Whiting, in 1994. He honorably served in the Army Air Force from 1941 to 1945, during World War II. He spent 29 months overseas and was active in the North Africa and European Campaigns. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 1000. Leonard worked for NJ Bell - Bell Atlantic- Verizon Companies for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers, Local 827. He was also a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
He was predeceased by his wife Anne in 2004, his first wife, Margaret, in 1990, and his sons Daniel and Kenneth. He is survived by his granddaughter, Kimberly, step-daughter, Arlene Treffinger, a daughter in-law, Gail; sister in-laws, Helen Gordon, Mildred Sheehan, and Ethel Sheehan; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 9 to 10:45 am, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11 am, at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
