Obituary of Herman Bolte
HERMAN H. BOLTE, 89, of Whiting, NJ and North Branch, NY, passed away Thursday, February 04, 2010, at home. He was born and raised in Union City, NJ. Mr. Bolte was the Chief of Police of the Union City Police Department for 20 years and was a member of the NJ State Association of Chief of Police and the PBA. He was a Pilot and attained the rank of Captain in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Mason Lodge #27 in Union City. He was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn in 1990. He is survived by his 2nd wife, Mary; one son and daughter-in-law, William H. and Gail Bolte of Augusta, NJ; one daughter, Lynne Wedeen of Marlton, NJ; four grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel, Brad and Tamsen and four great-grandchildren, Serena, Antonio, Paulina and Alyssa. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ, 08759. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be 11 am. at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
