Obituary of Joseph Palmeri
Joseph N. Palmeri, 78, of Whiting died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Whiting Health Care Center, Whiting, NJ. Born in Archibald, PA, he lived in Bloomfield, NJ and Toms River, NJ prior to moving to Whiting in 1999. Mr. Palmeri was a Security Guard at Harrah's Casino, Atlantic City, NJ for 10 years, retiring from there in 2004. He was a member of the ALA, Local #1, New York City; a member of the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen; was Past President of The Optimist of the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ; he was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Whiting and he was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Mr. Palmeri is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Travassaros Palmeri; three daughters, Joanne Egan of Rockaway, NJ; Virginia Chiller of Hackettstown, NJ; and Katie Ann Palmeri of Toms River, NJ; three Grandchildren, Victoria, Lauren, & Gary; and one Great-Grandson, Jack.
Family & Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Whiting with interment to follow in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.
