Obituary of Robert Pearson

Robert E. Pearson, 79, of Crestwood Village III, Whiting, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at home. Mr. Pearson was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. He moved to Whiting in 1995. He worked in the maintenance department at Bernstein High School, New York City Board of Education for 13 years, retiring in 1979. He was a US Navy veteran and member of the American Legion Post 126, Staten Island, NY. He was a member of the Residents Club of Village III and President of the Crestwood Social Club. He was a member of the Whiting United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois A.; two daughters, Patricia Billman of Manville and Susan Chapman of Staten Island, NY; three sons, Gary of Myrtle Beach, SC; Scott of Jackson and Michael of Oxford; five brothers, Richard of Boynton Beach, FL, Urban of Palm Coast, FL, Victor of Melbourne, FL, George of Oneonta, NY and Edward of Sebring, FL; one sister, Marilyn DeMoirier of Appomattox, VA; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Lisa, Keith, Kelly, Gregory, Amanda, Zachary, Michael and Samantha and two great-grandchildren, Dayna and Riley. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 and 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. Willam C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
