Obituary of Lawrence Szeliga

Lawrence C. Szeliga, 73, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at the Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River, NJ. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Hazlet before moving to Whiting in 2006. Mr. Szeliga was a computer specialist at Earl Naval Weapons Station, Colts Neck, for more than 20 years, retiring in 1998. He was a US Army veteran and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa & Daniel Campbell of Allenwood,; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ken and Gail Szeliga of Brick and Craig Szeliga of Whiting; one sister, June Nicolaus of Whiting and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be today, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9 a.m., Friday at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753.
