Obituary of Harry Harper

Harry W. Harper, 85, of Cedar Glen Lakes, Whiting, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Manor By the Sea in Ocean Grove. Born in McKeesport, PA, he lived in Trenton before moving to Whiting in 1997. He was a shipping clerk with H.D. Lee Company, Trenton for 20 years, retiring in the late 1960's. Mr. Harper was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W. Post, Morrisville, PA. He was an avid bowler, stamp and coin collector, Steelers and Mets fan and enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn V., in 2003. He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen S. Curto of Neptune City; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Diana Harper of Yardville; three grandsons, Michael, Joseph and Vincent and his wife, Colleen Curto; two great-granddaughters, Charlie Grace and Stella Catherine Curto; his dear friend Mary Zito and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will follow at 11 a.m., at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at St. Hedwigs Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.
