Obituary of Jr. Dickert

Joseph J. Dickert, Jr., 88, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009, at AristaCare, Whiting. Born in Madison, WI, he served as a First Lt. in Alaska during WW II. In 1947, he moved to Westville, NJ, in 1963, Yardley, PA and moved to Whiting in 2000. Joe worked as a Senior Research Chemist for Mobil Corporation for 37 years. After retiring, he volunteered at Bishop Egan High School where he catalogued and rebound books. He was a Lector for St. John's Evangelist R. C. Church. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joan and his brother, Edward of Milwaukee. Surviving are his wife, Katherine, of 63 years; two daughters, Janet and Judy; four sons, John, James, Jeff and Jason; two sisters, Ruth of Madison and Mary of Rochester; 11 grandchildren, Andrya, Matthew, Emily, Lauren, Daniel, Norah, Kaitlin, Timothy, Rachel, Zoe and Olivia and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob and Hayden. Relatives and friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., Tuesday at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
