Obituary of Dorothy Tiedeman

Dorothy Claire Tiedeman, 90, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Arista Care at Whiting. She was born to John Fitzpatrick and Louise Grabe on October 14, 1918. She had seven brothers, all deceased, John, Charles, Joseph, William, Frank, James and Edward. She is survived by one sister, Louise Connell, who resides in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Dorothy married William Tiedeman at Holy Eucharist Church, Yonkers, NY on July 28, 1946. She lived in Yonkers, NY and worked for the Board of Education. She moved to Crestwood Village, Whiting in 1980. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading and dancing. She volunteered at Crestwood Library. Her husband, William, was deceased on March 3, 1996. Dorothy had a youthful heart and spirit. She was blessed with a loving family and a close circle of friends. She will be missed by all who loved her. Relatives and friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Wednesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Entombment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting, NJ.
