Obituary of Catherine Gilmore

Catherine P. Gilmore, 78, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at home. She was born and raised in New York City and moved to Whiting in 1992. Catherine worked at Equitable Life Assurance Society for 41 years before retiring in 1989. She was past President of the New York Regional Senatus of the Legion of Mary; Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre and a former parishioner of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, New York City. She was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and was a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society as well as a dedicated church volunteer. She also volunteered for Helping Hands. Catherine was predeceased by her brother, Francis Gilmore and sister-in-law, Rita Gilmore. She is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Connie Gilmore, Peter and Joan Gilmore and John and Dian Gilmore; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 13, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Tuesday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, NJ.
